Hi this is my nephew, Alexis's firstborn, my first nephew, my parents first grandchild, the youngest member of the Ponce family. Everyone welcome him to this world!

He is so cute, I just want to pick him up and hug and kiss him! I love him! My brother called me today at 7:00am and told me Russelle was in labor and about 11:00am EST she gave birth to Jayden. I could hear my nephew cry in the background and it brought me so much joy to hear him. Today, I am happy. I am happy for my brother and Russelle, I am happy for my parents, and I am happy for my family.
Crossing the Rubicon
I have returned.......you ready for me?
Crossing the Rubicon is a metaphor for deliberately proceeding past a point of no return. The phrase originates with Julius Caesars's invasion of Ancient Rome when, on January 10, 49 BC he led his army across the Rubicon river in violation of law, hence making conflict inevitable.

As I anxiously crossed my own Rubicon, I looked ahead of me and found myself at war. Many times I debated not crossing this river and not engaging in war. But each time I debated, I knew the path beset me is on the other side. Eleven years of struggle and sacrifice has prepared me for this time, to become a general in this war. My white coat and stethescope is my only sign of rank. I am simple, I am young, and I lack the experience. But still, I have the respect and trust of all those who would follow me and all those I would fight for.
For the past thirty days, I have been in a battle. My battle has been against the darkness that calls out to me "I see you" (I.C.U.) At any hour of the night, the darkness is ready to attack and snatch away any poor soul. Lucky for me, my lieutenant is a good student and learns well. Together we were able to support each other through this tough time. Many victories were won, but not without its fare share of casualties.
Two things have gotten me through this battle, Faith and Love. The ever present, ever loving, Lord and King for whom I fight for has been there always to strengthen me. He gives me purpose in this war. He is the real healer, I am just His servant. The love of my life, Kelly, has also been there from the beginning. She nourishes my soul so that I can continue to fight in this war. She takes care of all the little things in my life. I dont know how I could have survived nights without her.
I have crossed the Rubicon, defeated my enemy.
